Getting your HostID
To get your hostid (also called the MAC Address or Physical Address), take the following steps:
Start -> Programs -> Accessories -> Command Prompt;
in the Command Prompt window type 'ipconfig /all'.
Your hostid is the 12 character 'Physical Address' of one of the listed 'Ethernet adaptors'. For example 00-01-02-1A-2B-3C without the dashes. Please do not select the 'Physical Address' of a 'PPP adaptor' as they are software generated and will not work for licensing. In addition, if you are using a laptop with a docking station, please make sure you get the hostid while the laptop is undocked.
Alternatively, if you can't find the hostid, in the Command Prompt window, type 'vol' and enter the 'Volume Serial Number' of your C drive, for example E8EF-9F65 without the dash.
